Introduction

The cold war as a time of great strife and division for countries around the world.  A veil of mistrust fell and nobody was safe from the repercussions.  This Webquest will explore the effects of the co,d war worldwide.  

  • How did the the cold war affect the trust between US citizens and government in the1900's.
  • Explain what effects the Cold War had on the soviet economy and the residual effects that plague Russia today.
  • how did the cold war affect the relationships between countries.

Task

Task one:  create a game that analyzes the effects of the Cold War on the soviet economy.  

directions:  research articles about the relationship between the cold war and the soviet economy. Develop in depth questions that analyze the Soviet economy before, during, and after the Cold War.  create your game.

task two:  write an essay that evaluates the relationship between the US government and its citizens.

directions:  research the level of popular support that the medical government had before, during, and after the Cold War.  Analyze how the populace reacted to government decisions and how the government responded to the demands of the citizens.  Write an essay that portrays  the fluctuation  the level of trust between the citizens and the government.

Task three:  write and present a short skit that portrays e relationships between the countries around the world during the Cold War. 

Directions:  research the relationships between the countries involved in the Cold War.  Focus on who was allied with who and who was most hostile towards who.  evaluate the reasons for these relationships as well as the long term effects.  Create a skit that expresses the aforementioned material.

Process

process

step one:  find at least three sources that look at every side of the issue. (40 min.)

step two:  evaluate the authors reasons for writing the article and his credibility.  (15 min.)

Step three:  create any charts, organizers, or flow charts that may help you create you project. (Optional, 10 min.)

step four:  complete your assigned task. (60 min.)

Evaluation

Engagement:  student is expected to spend at least 90% of their time focused on the task at hand. 

Content:  content must be factually correct as well as relevant to the topic.  

Attractiveness:  project is expected to look nice and include several images or graphics to compliment the information.

understanding: student must display a full understanding g of the information researched.
