Introduction
Caterpillars start out as eggs then go through cocoon to become a butterfly! For many living things this process is called a life cycle. The life cycle is different for different animals such as bears, mosquitos, frogs and humans!
Through this WebQuest you will learn about different animals' life cycles. You will be comparing the life cycle of 2 animals of your choice.
Task
During this section, you will be researching and learning the life cycles in different types of animals. You will conduct research and watch short videos and then present your knowledge on this topic to your classmates.
By the end of this lesson,
Learners will demonstrate knowledge of the life cycle of animals. Students will choose two animals, research and understand each animal’s life cycle and then present their knowledge to their classmates.
Process
Watch the following videos:

and visit some of these sites:

After watching all of the videos and reading some information on life cycles, select the two types of animals you would like to research on.
Use the worksheet you were given in class to record the information you learned about the life cycle of the animals you chose and think and answer the following questions:
1. What is a life cycle and how are life cycles similar and different in each animal?
2.What are the stages that an animal goes through during its life?
3. How long is a life cycle?
4. Does every animal go through the same cycle?
5.When does a life cycle start?
6. When does a life cycle end?
After you have completed your worksheet and thought and answered the questions, you may begin working on the project that you will present to the class.
You can create a poster, mobile, or any media you would like.
Please label the type of animals you are talking about, the different stages they go through, and be ready to share some similarities and be ready to answer the questions above!

Conclusion
Life Cycles are awesome! They are all different and work in many different ways. The goal of this project was to learn about life cycles and the differences in animal cycles. I hope you enjoyed and learned how science works every single day!
