Introduction
Introduction
This plan is for 10th grade students and through this project. Students will be able to notice geometry in the world around them. Everyday , we look at objects that are made of shapes, angles , and lines. Some of the shapes could be triangles, sqaures, rectangles, trapezoids. There are all different types of shapes you can use. There are angles such as corresponding, alternate interior and exterior, and same side interior. Some lines could be perpendicular lines, or parallel, or maybe even straight. Here some some real life applications that uses geometry.

Task
Task
Your task is to design a floor plan of a house. You are going to put your best effort into the project. This project wil be due May 28th. Your job is to come up with the best project and whoever wins gets 50 point on their lowest test grade.
You will be using a pencil to sketch your floor plan, a ruler and a poster board . It is your choice to color in the floor plan and make it look pretty.
Process
Process
1. Sketch your floor plan
2. Find perimeter of the whole house. To find the perimeter, you just add all the sides of the figure together.
3. Find area of patio. To find the area of the patio, you would multiply the length and the width of it.
4. Find perimeter of Master Bedroom. To find the perimeter of the master bedroom, you would divide the measurement from the outside of the house by 2. And you would add them together.
5. Area of garage. Since the garage is smaller than the perimeter of the whole house, you would just simply divide the length and the width by 2 . Then you would add them together.
6. Find perimeter of the fence. To find the perimeter of the fence, you have to add all the sides of the figure together.
7. You would find the perimeter of the other things such as the other 2 bedrooms, dining room, breakfest nook, family room, kitchen, closets and bathrooms.
8. Redraw your floor plan.
9. Make it look presentable. (color - your choice)
*Make the drawing as neat as possible. Also make sure you put your best effort into this project*

Conclusion
Conclusion
After doing this project, you should be a master in Area. There are different shape that have different areas. For example, a kite is height times base 1 plus base 2. But a triangle is different from that. But there are many real life applications that you can use for solving problems with area. I feel like this lesson is really helpful if you are doing another project in the future.

My name is Faizah Holmes. I am 16 years old and I attend Flagler Palm Coast High School. I love to dance and step. I hope I get to achieve my career in dancing. I chose to do the floor plan as my piece because it has all the simple shapes that i can use and figure out the area or perimeter of. This project is really helpful because you are using two concepts. Those are the basics.
