Global Warming Debate

Introduction

Hello Students!

This task is designed to help you undesrtand more about global warming. In the project your groups will be assigned to find as much information on global warming to give yourselves a vast knowledge, and be able to debate your groups topic of how global warming is affecting our planet. 

This groups topic is should the government do more to further limit emisions causing global warming.

Task

Your task is to find information in your group about global warming, and its effects on our planet. In your group you must assign jobs to different members. In each group there must be 

1. 2 reaserchers (to find the material you will be debating with)

2. 1 Introductary speaker for the debate

3. 1 person to make your arguments during the debate

4. 1 person to conclude your argumnts and make rebuttals if necessary

-Each student will have 2 minutes to make their case, then the floor will go to the next group. After each group has made their opening statments the debate will continue with the arguments and rebutals, lastly following with the conclusions. Each time having 2 minites to make their case. 

Process

The idea of this project is for each student to clearly undertand the effects and outcomes of global warming. In the debate each group has been given a topic opposing green house gas emitions, and other effects leading to global warming. Your groups job is to gather enough information to help proove your point to the rest of the class.

Evaluation

Each group will be evaluated by their information and ability to make an argument. Here is a visual that will better help you undstand the marking guide. 

Conclusion

After this project I hope that each of you has a better understanding on how gas emissions and global warming are affecteing our planet. I hope you all learned something and will continue to explore this topic. Thank you all for participating!

A. Students will have a different look at our worlds green house gas emisions, and understand more clearly how they work.

B. They will undersand that there are many differnt interpretations in science, and many different explanations of material.

C. Students will use their previous knowledge of seeking information to help them in finding the informations. As leaning new lessons in the skill.

D. They will share their interpretation on green house gas emisions, and other harmful pollutions causing global warming with the class, and gather knowledge to help them in future studies of biology.
