Triangles and polygons are importnat in geometry as it prepares you to deal with congruences. At the end of this WebQuest students will be able to understand the basics of triangles and polygons shapes and properties to go with them. Students should also be able to recognize triangles and polygons in everyday life.
Task
Through this WebQuest you will sharpen your skills on types of triangles and their characteristics. Then you will move on to the section on polygons and learn about the types and interior angles. Pay attention to how these different shapes are present in everyday life.
Process
1. Go to https://www.mathsisfun.com/triangle.html
read the sections on the different types of triangles and combining the names, stop once you get to the perimeter section.
Create your own 6 triangles with different names and shapes.
2. Next visit, http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/polygons.html
Read the whole section, and answer the questions on the activity sheet.
3. Then on the second page describe 2 triangles and 2 polygons you could see in everyday life.
