Forms of Poetry

Throughout this webQuest you will discover different types of poetry and learn elements that will help you become familar with different forms of poems. 

On a separate Google Doc Chart (shared as Poetry Discovery), as a pair, you and your partner will research 3 different forms of poetry. Once you choose the three forms, as a pair, fill out each section of Poetry Discovery Chart.

Once the chart is completed, pick a form of poetry to write a unique poem as a pair! 

1) Pick 3 Forms of Poetry to research. You MUST finalize your choices with teacher!

The choices are:

• Narrative
• Haiku
• Lyric
• Acrostic 
• Ballad
• Couplet
• Free-Form
• Epic

If a form of poem is not on the list, bring it to the teacher to get approved!

2) Using Google and the links provided, complete the Google Doc "Poetry Discovery" Chart.

• Definition/Description (be specific)
• 2 Examples of Poems (be sure to include title and poet's name)
• Fun Fact about this form of poetry

3) Pick a form of poetry that interests both partners! Then, go off and use creativity and imagination and WRITE YOUR OWN POEM! (1 Poem per Pair)
