The Famous Five WebQuest

Introduction

Welcome to Mrs. Wilson's WebQuest on the Famous Five!

On this journey, you will learn a lot about five special women who helped shape Canada's constitution and form our Canadian identity.

You will perform various tasks in order to complete this WebQuest, such as viewing video clips, reading, and doing some research of your own. Click through all the tabs to see what you are required to do and how you will be assessed.

Task

For this project you will research information about one of the famous five  women and create a report using one of the following methods listed below.

Before starting your research, you will complete three smaller tasks that will help you gather information for your project.

Watch this video to gain a better understanding of the topic. Answer the following questions to give you background knowledge.

1) Who were the famous five?

2) What were these women famous for? What were their achievements?

3) When in history did these events regarding the women take place?

Task 2

1) Now you must decide which of these women you will research and write a biography about.

  •       What was the issue your specific individual was trying to change?

  •       Who was affected by the issue?

  •       When and where did this issue take place?

  •       Why was the issue important?

  •       Was change brought about? How?

  •       How did the contributions of your specific individual affect individual rights in  

            Canada?

Conclusion

Your project should reflect everything you have learned on your webquest journey. Be as creative as you want by adding pictures, videos, or your own reflections about what you have learned. Don't forget to cite your sources so I know where you retrieved your information from. Include the website title, website url, and the date.
