Introduction
Your group has been chosen by the European Union to create an informational packet for the next World's Fair on a specific Region of Europe.
The European Union is trying to increase tourism as an economic boost for the Union Members at the Fair.
How would you persuade someone to travel to a foreign country? What kind of information should be given to inform and entice someone to make this kind of trip?
The assignment you have been given is to put together information in the form of a brochure and a visual presentation for the Fair.

After investigating and researching different European Regions you will be able to answer the following:
- How are the different regions of Europe similar and different?
- How do the different regions and countries of Europe compare to the United States? Explaining similarities and differences.
Task
Task
Your group will be assigned a specific region of the Continent of Europe. Pick two countries from your region that you would like to learn more about for the Presentation. Each group will have four Experts who will be responsible for researching specific information about the countries.
The Experts will compile their information into two different products. One will be a Brochure of the Region, highlighting the two countries your group has chosen, that can be handed out to visitors of the Fair. The second product will be a PowerPoint Presentation for people at the Fair to view. All group members will work on the two products together and will conduct a presentation of their information.

Process
Research!! To make a big impression at the World's Fair you are going to have to do a lot of research on your chosen countries.
Step One:
Choosing Your Role: Your group will be divided into specific Expert roles. Each Expert is responsible for specific information:
- Sociologist- Currency, Religion, Traditional Foods, Language, Population, Ethnicity, and Government
- Travel Consultant - Distance from United States to the capitals of both of your countries, what are the countries famous for (explain 2 things), and 2 interesting places to visit for each country
- Historian - Describe two historical events of each country, and two historical landmarks
- Geographer - Landforms described, climate, natural resources, relative location of the region

Remember each Expert is required to find specific information for each country. You will be choosing your Expert Roles on your own in your groups.
Step Two: Once you have decided on your Expert Roles, you can begin conducting your individual research. Keep a research log of your information as you discover it, as well as a list of all of your sources.
Step Three: When all your research is completed, you and the other experts will begin compiling and sharing the information you have gathered. Discuss the information, comparing what you each have discovered.
Below are wonderful resources to use for your research.

Process Two:
Now that you have found all of your information your group is ready to create your products.
- The Region Brochure
- You will create a paper brochure for each country. Each brochure should have the information gathered for the country by each Expert.
- The Visual
- You will be using PowerPoint to produce a visual presentation of your European Region. Or you can also choose to make a video commercial. The presentation or commercial should include facts about the country, and several pictures. The poster is intended to persuade people to come and visit this particular region of Europe, specifically your chosen countries.
Process Three: Your Reflective Essay. This is an individual grade.
Once you have finished your research, your brochure, and PowerPoint...and have learned from your classmates presentations; you will complete a Reflective Essay on what you have learned about the Continent of Europe. The essay will include:
- General information about Europe
- Specifics about the countries you researched
- Specifics about at least two countries you learned about during the presentations.
- What you found the most interesting during your research or the presentations.
- What you would like to learn more about.
- And a comparison of the United States and the European Region you researched. Discuss similarities and differences in your comparison.
