ESH340 Week 7 Communicable Diseases Task

Introduction

Welcome Students

Today you will be learning about communicable and chronic diseases (C&C).

These diseases can occur from a range of lifestyle activities including poor cardiovascular health, poor diet or even sharing objects.  

Today you are going to learn some more about C&C diseases.   

Task

Today, you will participate in a WebQuest.

Without using google search engine, you will be required to search for at least 3 C&C diseases.

You will be provided with a list of useful websites to use as an information source to complete the task.  

You must write in your own words.  You may use Microsoft Word, Publisher or Powerpoint to complete the task.

For each disease, you must explain the following:

  • Disease description 
  • How the disease is contracted
  • Symptoms
  • Treatment available
  • Prevention

You have two hours in total to complete this task (one hour now and one hour during tomorrow's lesson).

This is an important activity as these diseases and illnesses are able to be caught at school.  Remember to talk to your parent or guardian if you have any concerns about your health.  They will be able to organise a doctor's appointment for a check up.

Remember to reflect on what you have learnt, and tell a family member or friend something that you found interesting from the activity.
