Introduction
Can you name a musician that is currently famous? Of course you can-- But how many of you can name famous composers from the Renaissance Era of music? The six eras of music helped us to develop the music that we have the luxury of listening to in modern times. Today, we will be exploring the different eras of music history, learning about the characteristics that made each era unique, as well as learning about the different composers during these eras.
Task
You will be divided into groups of 3, and will be making a PowerPoint Presentation based on what you have learned from each era of music. Each PowerPoint must have at least 13 slides—1 title slide, and then at least 2 slides for each era of music. For each era, you must have a least 1 slide of characteristics from that era, as well as 1 slide with composers and works by them. You can include YouTube links to the pieces or pictures of composers if you would like! You may use more than 2 slides per era if needed.

Process
First, you will research each era of music AS A GROUP! Please collaborate on this, and do not divide up the different eras among yourselves. You must decide upon what you think the main characteristics of each musical era are, and decide upon 2 important composers and major works from this time. After you have collected all of your research, you will make your PowerPoint. You can add pictures, music, and whatever else you may need to make your research more interesting.
