Environmental Issues

Introduction

Humans have a huge impact on the Earth’s environment. As 7th grade scholars, it is your job to get to know the different ways humans have negatively affected the environment and think about solutions to these issues.

You will write a scholarly paper to share with the President at the next Environmental Summit.

Task

You will research and present on one of the following environmental issues.

  • Water Pollution
  • Burning of Fossil Fuels
  • Air Pollution
  • Deforestation
  • Release of CFC’s
  • Littering
  • Pesticide Use
  • Fertilizer Use

Process

Since you are presenting to the President about this issue, you must make sure to answer the following questions in your presentation.

 

  1. What is your issue? What does it involve?

 

  1. Why is this issue a problem? What effects does it have on the environment?

 

  1. What negative effects have already taken place because of this issue? Try to name specific examples.

 

  1. What can be done to fix this issue? Could a person, group, or the government do something about it?

 

  1. Has a person or group tried to fix this use? Describe their efforts and the impact they have had.

Also- why should the president use the available resources to tackle your problem.
