Introduction
Environmental health is the area of health that focuses on all areas of the environment, and how they can affect human health.
Environmental health includes;
- staying informed about environmental issues;
- becoming aware of organizations and global initiatives to protect the environment;
- helping keep the air clean;
- helping keep the water clean and safe;
- keeping noise at a safe level;
- conserving energy and natural resources;
- recycling and disposing of waste properly
Task
The purpose of this webquest is to make you aware of the environment we live in, as well as what it takes to make it a safe, healthy place.
The environment and people depend on one another. The actions that people take affect the quality of the environment and affects the quality of human lives.
It is important that people of all ages take part in keeping our environment clean, whether that is by recycling paper, cans, cardboard and batteries, or by properly throwing out our trash.
Not wasting water during our day and turning off the lights also helps to reduce waste.
Process
Your task is to design a brochure. This is to educate yourself and inform others of the importance of environmental health, and keeping the earth clean. Your brochure must include the following;
> What is environmental health?
> What does "Going Green" mean?
> 2 ways to reduce electricity?
> 2 ways to save water?
> 2 ways to keep the air clean?
>What is happening to our rain forests?
> Speak with your family members and ask them what is one way they can help keep the earth clean?
On the day it is due, you will present your brochure to myself and the class. Explain to us the information you researched and what you learned. Your brochure will be passed around for all to see.
