Introduction
Take a moment and look around the room. Now take a moment and imagine what the room would be like if someone flipped the light switch. Do you know what is needed for the lightbulbs to work? Do you know how flipping the switch turns the light off?
Today you will explore these questions and find their answers.

Task
The students will learn about electic circuits, currents, conductors, route, static electricity, component, and insulator. They will watch videos and complete on-line activities to increase their knowledge.
Process
1. After finding your partner you will watch the following Brian Pop Video together.
https://www.brainpop.com/technology/energytechnology/electriccircuits/
2. Follow the link to the activity and lable the components of the circuit.
https://www.brainpop.com/technology/energytechnology/electriccircuits/activity/
3. Follow the link and click ages 8-9 on the left and complete the given activity.

Evaluation
You will be graded on your participation, vocabulary, and your answers to the following questions (use your own paper).
- What is a complete circuit?
- Can you tell me about parallel and series circuits?
- What is electricity?
- How does a light switch work?
- What are "currents"?
- What are resistors?
- How can birds sit on power lines without getting electrocuted?
