Introduction

What is Pop Art?

Pop art is an art movement from the 1960s that showcased imagery of every day items and popular culture. Watch the following video to further understand the pop art movement and its characteristics.

Task

Now that you have viewed the video and reflected on at least three characteristics of the Pop Art Movement, you will be creating a power point presentation.

The first task you will have is to define the pop art movement in your presentation. Make sure to add a few examples of Pop Art from the website link provided.

Next you will choose one artist from the video and present information about this artist and their involvement in the pop art movement by using Microsoft P0wer Point. 

Lastly, you will use an on-line game to paint your own Pop Art Style painting!

Process

Steps for the Pop Art Power Point presention:

Slide 1: Title page:

     Name, Date, Title of your presentation

Slide 2: Define Pop Art:

     Write two sentences to explain the pop art movement and provide at least three visual examples.

Slide 3: Choose an Artist

     Choose an artist from the video to reseach. (Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Hamilton, or Peter Blake)

     Include: birth date / death date / place of birth

Slide 4: Connect the artist to the pop art movement

     Explain how this artist was involved in the pop art movement in at least two sentences.

Slide 5: Visuals

     Show at least three examples of the artist's art work and explain how to relates to the characteristics of the pop art movement.
