Introduction
Today we will be exploring daily life during the California gold rush!
Specifically we will be answering these questions:
- What was daily life like for the gold miners and their families?
- What did the 49-ers do for fun during the Gold Rush?
- What were the challenges of living in California during the Gold Rush?
Task
Work with a partner to create a poster about an aspect of daily life during the Gold Rush.

Steps:
1. Move so you are sitting with your partner and grab a computer from the laptop cart
2. Read over the process page, so you know what your group's task is
3. Follow the links to learn information about your topic
4. Once you have information on each part of the poster planning sheet, raise your hand and I will bring you a posterboard
5. Using markers, colored pencils, construction paper, or anything in the supply corner, create a poster about your topic. Be ready to present it to the class at the end of the period.
