Constitution Hunt

Introduction

This webquest was created to help you learn more about the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  Have fun searching for the answers with your group!




Task

Your task is to go on a "Constitution Hunt" by searching through the various websites that have been included to answer as many of the questions on your sheet as possible.  The team that answers the most questions will receive a prize!

Use the links at the bottom of the page to hunt for information to help you answer the questions on your team's "Constitution Hunt" paper.

1.) What exactly is the Constitution?


2.) How many amendments are there right now?

3.) Where is the Constitution located now?

4.) What state was the final state to accept the Constitution, thus ratifying it?

5.) When was the Bill of Rights accepted?

6.) How many delegates did not sign the Constitution?


7.) How is the Constitution set up? How many articles are there? How many amendments?


8.) Where in the Constitution can you find the establishment of Congress?

9.) How often are members of the House of Representatives elected? 

 10.) How many years do you need to be a citizen to become a senator? 

11.) What is the Presidential oath?

12.) Name one duty or power of the President. 

13.) Where did the idea of judicial review come from?

14.) What is the purpose of Article IV?

15.)  Article V deals with the amendment process. How many must agree in Congress to begin the amendment process?

16.) What does federalism have to do with the supremacy of the Constitution?

17.) Which state had the most delegates sign the Constitution?



18.). What is the Great Compromise?  How does it work?

19.) Which amendment do you think is the most important? Why?

20.) What is the Bill of Rights? Where can it be found in the Constitution?

Evaluation

Your team is competing against all of the other teams in the room to answer the most questions correctly.  Some of the answers will be easy to understand and to find ... some of the answers will be more difficult.  You will have two class periods to complete as much of this hunt as you can.

Conclusion

If you finish answering all 20 questions in the Constitution Hunt early ... you may go on solpass.org and play games related to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
