How did little proxy wars make a big impact on the Cold War?

How did the Cold War cause decades of fear and worrie the American people.

Why was it called the Cold War?

The Cold War was a long period of scare with many conflicts involes. All though it wasn't a real war it had many proxy wars that affected the U.S. And other countries. The U.S. Has a fude now after the war with several countries. The USSR and us fighting for the arms race. The USSR and Us fought in the Cold War

F: There is no how or why or they aren't your own. There is not correct answer. There is no true or false questions.
