Introduction
The Cold War was a very interesting chapter in American history. It spanned from 1947-1991. The Cold War began after World War II ended. After Germany fell, there was a huge power loss in the world. then, two super powers, The United States and the Soviet Union, wanted to be the new big power. The Cold War was an ideological war between the capitalist Americans and the communist Soviet Union. The Cold War consisted of a series of causes and effects, Like how one little problem could cause an atomic bomb to be dropped at any time.
Essential Questions:
Question 1. How did the Soviet union influence other countries?
Question 2. Could there have been an alternate solution to war? If so, what and why?
Question 3. How did the Cold War effect the American people?
This shows the two superpowers, the USSR and the US. This map of the world shows who NATO was, and who CSTO was.
Task
Task: you have to create an essay on the Space race, and how it contributes to the Cold War.
1. Research several articles for information on the Space race
2. Look for information on the USSR and how they contributed
3. Look for information on the USA and how they contributed
4. Be sure to include the new innovations and how the world preogressed from the space race.
5. Connect the essay to the three essential questions

1. Research should take 10-15 mins to find new information on the space race
2. USSR- What they made and how they made it. Plus how they contributed to the space race. (10 mins)
3. USA- What they made and how they made it. Plus how they contributed to the space race(10 mins)
4. Innovations and technology of the space race should take 10 mins
5. Should take 10-20 mins to connect to the three essential questions
6. Overall, 40-50 mins for the essay and research.
