Cloning

Introduction

This year, you have learned a lot about cell division and the processes by which genetic information is passed from generation to generation. Today, you will consider one possible application of that knowledge: cloning. You will read about what cloning is and how it works, as well as some implications of and myths about cloning.

EITHER

1) You are a researcher for an agriculture company. You want to propose that your employers use cloning to replicate advantageous traits in the plants or animals you raise and sell. Write an email to explain to them how the process works and why you think it could benefit the company. Also describe the risks.

OR

2) You are a business owner who wants to sell people clones of their pets. Write an advertisement that explains to potential customers how the process works and why you think they will benefit from your services. Also describe the risks.
