In Class Webquest re: Patient Confidentiality

Introduction

Is patient Confidentiality compromised with the electronic health record?

Students in a graduate nursing class will look at an article about patient confidentiality and the electronic health record.   Students will take a postion about whether or not they think patient condidentiality is compromised with the electronic health record.

To present your position you will create a WebQuest

Why create a WebQuest for this week's computer class?   A WebQuest assists students to transform information into something else: a cluster that maps out  the main issues, a comparison, a hypothesis, a solution, etc.

Each group's Webquest will have the following components

1.  Introduction

2.  Task

3. Process

4.  Evaluation

5.  Conclusion

6.  Credits

7.  Teacher's page

Task

The Task block in a WebQuest  is a description of what the learner will produce by the end of the exercise.

It could be a product,  PowerPoint presentation, a  written report, or an oral presentation.  In the case of this webQuest your team will produce a webQuest!

You and your team  will work together to gather information for an Issue Report.

Use the following article to generate ideas about the advantages and disagvantages of the use of electronic health records
