Task

Task: You will work in groups of two or three to research, create an powerpoint on the chronic disease that you have chosen and present the information to the class.
You will have two lessons to do you research and create your powerpoint before you present it to the class. You will only have 3 minutes per group and every team member is required to speak.
It will need to be creative and contain the following information:
1. Symptoms
2. Causes
3. Stastics
4. Treatments
5. Prevention
Tip: Be creative! Use pictures and colours to make it look presentable.
Process

Step 1: Form a group and choose a chronic illness from the following:
- Measles
- Chicken Pox
- Influenza
- Whooping Cough
- Pediculosis
- Foot and Mouth Disease
- Ring Worm
- Diabetes
- Mumps
- Rubella
Step 2: Spend the lessons researching you chosen disease. You can use books and the internet to help you find the information needed. Some useful websites include:

Step 3: Create your powerpoint presentation. Remember to include the symptoms, causes, treatment, prevetention and statistics.
Step 4: Show the class what you have found, speakingfor up to 3 minutes long. Remember, every team member needs to be included in the speech.

Conclusion

To conclude this lesson we will have a class discussion on some of the strategies we can use to prevent illness. So make sure you are all listening to each others presentations to get some ideas.
