Christopher Columbus and the Columbian Exchange
Directions: This webquest will will focus on one of the world's most famous explorer, Christopher Columbus, and his impact on the Columbian Exchange.

In this Webquest you will be learning about Christopher Columbus and his journey to the Americas. You will learn about the reason for his quest, whom tasked him with it, and the journey overseas. You will also learn about the ships used for travel and the items traded with the natives. Afterwards, we will discuss the impact on history and the world.

The Columbian Exchange refers to a period of cultural and biological exchanges between the New and Old Worlds. Exchanges of plants, animals, diseases and technology transformed European and Native American ways of life.
Task

Your Task: Through primary source analysis, you will be exploring the route taken to discover the New World. You will also be anaylzing the impact of the Columbian Exchange on Africans, Europeans, and Native Americans. You will be evaluating who benefited most from trade and the exchange of different cultures.
Process

Conclusion
You have learned a lot on your journey back in time. Christopher Columbus discovered America more than 500 years ago. You discovered the reason for his exploration, what he discovered, the journey he took, the ships used, and the items traded. Because of Columbus' journey we now are able to enjoy a wide variety of foods, plants, and livestock.
