Introduction
This webquest aims to inform you on the affect of cancer and diabetes through first hand case experiences and supporting foundations.
The presentation aims to give you an understanding of:
*what cancer and diabetes are
*why and when they occur in patients
*the effect they have on patients
*how they are cured
*how they are maintained if uncurable
through a series of investigation questions and experiences.
The webquest will use the cancer foundation website and Diabetes Australia website for research purposes and personalised video case studies for a personal view on the experience.
Task
The group will be assigned into four groups of five.
2 groups are allocated the topic of cancer and two diabetes.
Searching for prior knowledge, the cancer groups will be assigned the question 'what is cancer?' and diabetes groups will answer 'what is diabetes?'.
Groups will notate what they know about their communicable diseases, and what they are unsure about for the investigation.
Groups are given 15 minutes to complete this task
After writing your knowledge down you will share with the whole group some facts you know about the communicable disease's.
Process
In your group of four delegate one team captain, one researcher, one writer, and creator.
The team captain is to manage time, and make sure their team is on track- presenting the poster at conclusion.
The researcher is the only member to touvh the computer, others can join in the research to navigate the resources.
The writer notates what the group believes to be important information for the presentation.
The creator collects any material resources such as paper and texas to create the poster.
Once your roles have been chosen work as a team to create an A3 poster presentation for your communicable disease.
You are to include what it it, the affects it has on the body, how it is cured or managed if incurable and any other relevant information you as a group feel is necessary.
Below are a short video clip on the disease and some relevant websites to ensure your prior knowledge is correct and up-to-date.
Two are presented for diabetes and two for cancer, watch and research the resources relevant to your topic.

Evaluation
The team captain is the delegated speaker who reads the information the group has researched.
The groups are assessed against a checklist of the questions they were to answer.
*What is cancer/diabetes?
*What affect does cancer/diabetes have on the body?
*How is cancer/diabetes cured?
*How is cancer/diabetes maintained if incurable?
*What treatments/medications are available?
*Other relevant information or facts.
Conclusion
It is important that we understand how to practise and apply strategies to seek help for themselves or others (ACARA, 2015). Diabetes is a communicable disease that will in some circumstances require assistance, and cancer much the same requiring a substansial amount of support during treatments.
