Introduction
You just moved to a new city! You’ve settled into your new place and have a week of your job under your belt. You’re already feeling the effects of not exercising regularly after two whole weeks of the move. It’s time to get into a groove. Your new job means a higher salary so you can budget in a gym membership and possibly a new bike!
Task
-
Pick where you want to live! Either a city you always dreamed of living in or a place that you love to visit. You will compare fitness centers and gyms, bike and hiking trails, and costs.
-
Your budget is $25/month. You may want to factor in how much that is a year, what a membership costs per year, how much state park yearly passes are, and if you have money left over for a bike. The budget will vary depending on the city you choose.
-
For this assignment, look for membership rates of someone between the age of 23-40.
-
Font: Arial 11
-
You will put all the information in a single document to be printed, stapled and handed in by 3/29/16.
Process
-
Choose a city and an apartment for sale (you will not have to budget in the apartment, just have the address). List the name of the city and the address of your apartment at the top of your sheet.
-
From that address, research fitness centers and gyms in your area, preferably within a 10 mile radius. You may include a map that points out your address and the different fitness centers but make sure to include distances.
-
Compare at least 3 gyms/fitness centers (cost, equipment, benefits, etc.)
-
Find the nearest hiking trail from your apartment. Compare distances of hiking trails, which ones are closest to you, and if you need state park admission.
-
Find the nearest bike trail from your apartment. Compare distances of biking trails, which ones are closest to you, and if you need state park admission.
-
Choose a bike that would best suit the needs of your activity (ie. city bike trail → casual bike; wooded/hill bike trail → mountain bike).
-
Be creative! Choose places that you would enjoy (ex. zumba classes, trails by a lake, etc.). Choose places that fit your needs. You may choose to include maps but it isn’t mandatory.
- Follow format below.
