Introduction

History is an important part of human life, because it provides us with many facts, notions and ideas about the world in order to comprehend how it evolves day by day. So, in this case, students have the opportunity to explore British history and also practice the language throughout the process, in which they will be able to find and interpret the roots of the English language.
Therefore, in this webquest students are going to learn about British history and about the language, and then, they are going to interpret and organized the information in order to present it to their classmates in the end.
Task

The task for this webquest is to find different and interesting facts, dates, characters, events about the most important periods in British history (Roman Britain, Vikings and Anglo-Saxons, Norman Britain, The Tudors, Empire and Sea power and Britain in the 20th).
After the research, you are going to interpret and organized all the information using an infographic, which should be understandable and creative.
Finally, you present your infographic to your classmates and to the teacher in a 3-5 minutes presentation in which you will explain all your findings.
This is a task to be done in teams of 3 people 4 maximum, not individually.
Process

1. Exploring information sources and comprehending and sharing findings
a. Get in your teams, discuss about which strategies you are going to implement in order to be more effective. Then, you can talk about what you know about the topic.
b. All of you are going to go through different web sites (you can find some links in the resources section) in order to explore them and look for information about the periods that you read in the task section. Then, you can do a chart for each period and for each student divided in some sections like, facts, important characters, events, etc. In order to takes notes individually.

c. When all team members have finished taking notes, it is the moment to share and compare your findings in order to find differences and similarities, clarify the information or choose the most relevant one.
2. Organizing your findings
a. After you collect and comprehend all the information, you are going to put it in an infographic (in the resources section you can find a link for a web site to do infographics and also tutorials to register and handle the program). Keep in mind that the infographic should be very original and understandable and show all the periods.
3. Presenting your findings
a. Finally, you present your infographic to the class. It should be a 3-5 minutes presentation in which all of you have to talk and explain your classmates and the teacher your findings.
Evaluation
As part of your evaluation, you will be have to create an infographic that contains the most relevant information about British History. The criteria for the evaluation is shown in the following rubric.

Conclusion

This task was designed for you to build your own knowledge on a toic that may be a little or completely unkown to you. Nevertheless, when we learn in our own way without being told what to do, we discover in ourselves abilities that we didn't even think we could have.
