Introduction
Attention Students! It is time to set off on a journey into our pasts to discover where we came from. To do this we must explore the evolution of even the most simplest organism to becoming what we are today Human Beings!. Every organism or bacteriam have a history and it is our duty to journey into the past and explore this!

Task
At the end of this learning journey students will be able to clearly outline to impact and proccesses of evolution, the inheritance of characteristics through environmental changes and the structural change of DNA through DNA replication. Please watch this Introductory Video that will help to introduce this topic.

Process

Week 1:
You will be required to gain an understanding of the scientific process of evolution, the discoveries made by Charles Darwin and the acknowledgement of the changes to DNA structure through genetics. Please watch this short video on Evolution to access a brief outline of the context we intend to explore over the coming weeks and gain a deeper understanding how the theory of evolution.

Week 2:
Charles Darwin was a naturualist and geologist who is well known for his work on the theory of evolution. Darwin suggested that through natural selection and adaptation simple organisms adapted and changed genetically to becom complex organisms. We can gain a breif overview of looking back at Darwins Work in this short video. Please watch this short summary of the Evidence of Evolution.

Week 3:
Gregor Mendell was an Austrian man who was a monk. He is well known for his work on hereditary and genetics through his early Experiments he conducted in his own garden using plants. Mendell's experiments explained the outcomes of Monohybrid Crosses by involving simple genetic dominances.

Week 4:
Gregor Mendell developed the proccess of using Punnet Squares to be able to predict/show all possible gene combinations in a cross of parents. It is now up to you to use Mendells principles to solve these following Problems.

Week 5:
At this point in your journey you shoudl be able to identify the usefullness of a reliable resource. It is now up to you to use self direction to reflect upon and gain a deeper understanding of the content we have looked at over the last few weeks. For now I will leave you with this cartoon of Evolution Explained to give you one last overview.

Evaluation
You are now required to evaluate your learning experience. Using the marking rubric below please assess your own directed learning.

Conclusion
Congratulations! You have now completed your time travel into the past to discover how life is as we know it today! Through this journey you should now have a sound understanding of the theory of evolution, genetics and herediatry traits. We can now see how much we have achieved as a species that has evolved from an ape to an intellegent life form that is responsible for the world we know today.
