"The Bends"

Introduction

Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving in which a scuba diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba) to breathe underwater. An unfortunate problem that many divers face is a condition called "the bends". You will be learning about "the bends", how it works, the effect on the human body and more!

Task

All about "BENDS"

a) Briefly describe what "bends" is.

b) What causes a diver to get "bends".

c) What happens to a divers body during "bends" that makes it so dangerous.

d) What are the long term effects of getting the "bends"

d) What is the treatment for divers with the "bends"

e) What can divers do to avoid getting the "bends".

Process

Follow each step to get all information necessary for questions in previous TASK

1) Use Google to research the questions given from the "task".

2) Look at a minimum of 3 websites about "The bends" for accurate and comparable information. (List the sites as references with the submitted questions)

3) Answer each question using proper gramar and spelling.

4) Do not answer questions using point form.

1) Introduce Web quest to students

a) Have the students follow each step indicated in the tabs (Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation, conclusion)

b) The questions that the students must answer are under the "task" tab. (There are 4 questions)

c) In the "process" students should use at least 3 different websites to ensure a well rounded and deep understanding of topic

d) Ensure each student views the video under "conclusion". If the link does not work. Have students type "story of scuba diver getting the bends" in the youtube search bar.
