Introduction
The periodic table of elements is very interesting. It may seem that the elements are just thrown on the table in any order, but this theory is incorrect. The elements are organized on the table in a certain way to which their properties form a certain pattern. The elements are also put into families that have similiar properties. These are just a few of the ways the periodic table is arranged.

Task
Your task is after completing this WebQuest is to be able to tell how and why the periodic table is arranged the way it is. You should also be able to tell the difference between the atomic mass, the atomic number, and symbol of an element.

Process
Step #1:
Gather the following supplies: paper, pencil, and a periodic table.
Step #2:
Go to the link below to watch the rap about the periodic table, then on your sheet of paper, write one of the things you found interesting about the rap.

Step #3:
Next, go to the following website and read the first paragraph. Then, writ one trait about the "Metals" family of the table.

Step #4:
Afterwords, go to link below to view a powerpoint about the periodic table. Then, in your own words write why you thinkthe periodic table is important.
Step #5:
Lastly, go to the following website and read about the element that gives us life. List 2 facts that you found where interesting and why they were.

Evaluation
For each of the following, give it a rating of 1-4. 1 being the worst, 4 being the best.
- I learned something new about the periodic table.(1,2,3,4)
- I enjoyed watching the video and other interactive parts of this WebQuest.(1,2,3,4)
- I found some of the facts about the periodic table interesting.(1,2,3,4)
- I found this WebQuest interesting and fun to use.(1,2,3,4)
Conclusion
In conclusion, there are many purposes for the reason the periodic table is arranged the way it is. It makes properties of the elements predictable for scientists. Also, it makes it easier for us to identify elements and describe them. These are the reasons why the periodic table is arranged the way it is.
