Animals

Introduction

                Students now a days are very vigilant in our world, they love to explore and discovery a lot of things. We know that in our world we live in, we are surrounded by different Animals both land and waters. Students will explore information about different kinds of animals that they can find in their own place. Students use their research to create picture books containing facts about those different animals according to their classification. Then, each student shares his or her book with a partner; partners are expected to offer positive comments about one another's books.

Task

During your research, find the answers to these Essential Questions:

  • What are the basic needs of the animals?
  • What are the 5 Classifications of Animals?
  • What are their common characteristics?
  • What are some interesting facts about animal?

 

  • You will EXPLORE all different kinds of animals and resources until you are familiar with the animals.
  •  
  • You will EXAMINE several different sources on the Internet and in books to see which os will give you the best information about the different classifications of Animals.

 

  • You will GATHER all the answers to our four essential questions in your researcher's notebook.
  •  

You will CREATE picture books containing facts about the Animals, based on their classification, and then shares what you have done to your partner;

 

  • Above all just have fun-- just like exploring the world with your creative minds.


Process

We will be working our way through each step as a class!

 

Step 1: Let's Explore!

Use the Interesting Facts worksheet in your researcher's notebook to record at least 5 facts in every classification of Animals.  Choose a variety of animals from all over the world!  Visit each of these sites during your exploration:

Wow!  The world is full of fascinating animals, isn't it?  

 

Step 2:  Examine Resources!

How do we look for our facts? Let's pretend you and your partner are researching the wonders of animals.  Use Resource #3 at the bottom of this page to answer all the questions on your Animal Facts worksheet.

 

Step 3: Gather Information!

Now that you have narrowed down your choice to 5 each in the classification of animals, you are ready to begin your research!  In this step, you will begin to gather information about the four Essential Questions in your quest to become an animal expert, and animal lover as well!

 

Start with the same sites from Step 1, looking for information on your specific animal.  Be sure to record each fact in your researcher's notebook. ________________________________________________________________

 

Step 4: Present Your Research!

You've now become an expert on the classification of animals!  In class, you will be creating PowerPoint slideshows with all those facts you have gathered, and as well you’re finish picture books containing facts about those different animals according to their classification,so with that you cannow  share what you have learned wit
