Introduction
This purpose of this WebQuest is to explore Greek Theatre History. You will go on a journey of discovery, and immerse yourself in the culture of Ancient Greek Theatre.
Learn all that you possibly can!
Task
You are to take notes as you explore the Websites that I have provided for you in order to create a project on Ancient Greek Theatre.
The Project - You will either create and present a poster that contains at least 5 facts about Ancient Greek Theatre, at least 2 images (printed or drawn). Or you will write a 1 page paper about the information you learned through your research.
Think about:
.Time period - When did Greek Theatre originate?
.Influence - Was Greek theatre influenced or inspired by other cultures?
.Performace- Think about the elements of a Greek Theatre performance - What kind of stage did they use? Where did the audience sit? What genders were allowed to perform? ... etc
.Genre - What types of theatre were popular with the Ancient Greeks?
.Works - What are some of the famous plays from Greek Theatre, and who wrote them?
-Why do you think these particular works are so important?

Explore these websites to find information on Greek Theatre. You'll find that some of the websites contain images, interactive games, and videos as well. Remember that if you are creating a poster for your WebQuest project, you must have at least 2 images on your poster.

Evaluation
The Project
Choose 1 of the following options:
1.) Present a poster that contains at least 5 facts about Ancient Greek Theatre, at least 2 images (printed or drawn). You will present your poster to the class.
2.) You will write a 1 page paper about the information you learned through your research. Be sure to reflect and think about the importance of Greek theatre, and how it might have contributed to contemporary theatre as we know it. You will present an abstract of your paper. In other words: you will tell the class what sort of information you put into your paper. You do not have to read your whole paper to the class!
-We will be using three class periods for this assignment.
-Day 1: Begin Research
- Day 2: Complete Research & Begin Projects
- Day 3: Finish Projects & Begin Presentations
-I will be watching to make sure I can answer any of your questions if you have them, and I will be making sure that you are on task. You should not be visiting any other Websites during this assignment... all the info you need can be found on the Websites I provided!
