Introduction
By Kayla Grudowski, Corianne Jenkins, and Brooke Irvine
By the end of the webquest the student will be able to explain and identify what it is and where the specific natural disasters occur.
Task
Students will...
- Research Natural disasters
- Create posters to show what research they found.
- Take a test matching up pictures with the definition and the area for where that natural disaster occurs.
- Explain to “house hunter family” reasons why the area isn't safe.
Process
A family is looking for a new place to live and needs your help! Where would a safe place be for us to live! Can you help us understand about the different kinds of natural disasters, where they take place and how to stay safe when the natural disaster occurs.
- The classroom will be split into six groups and each assigned a disaster (Avalanches, Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Floods/Tsunamis, Weather Disasters, and Wildfires).
- Each group will then research their disaster combining their information together.
- They will then create a poster on where they occur, what happens, and how to stay safe.
- Students will then present their information to the class and explain their findings.

Conclusion
Congratulations! You are now “experts” on natural disasters. You should keep this information in mind for the future and know that these disasters can be dangerous. Be sure to help others understand the importance of staying safe during any natural disaster.
