This WebQuest is about FRACTIONS! Fractions are used everyday in our lives. Can you believe that? This means that they are very important to know. If you like pizza, baking a cake, telling time or even shopping then you use fractions often.
Fractions are also very fun! In this WebQuest you are going to learn how to add and subtract fractions with common denominators!

Task
To become an expert at adding and subtracting fractions you will need to follow the directions in the lesson very carefully.
During the lesson you will:
1. Watch a video that explains how you add fractions with a common denominator.
2. Add 5 pairs of fractions using visual aids to check for understanding.
3. Watch a video that explains how to subtract fractions with a common denominator.
4. Subtract 5 pairs of fractions using visual aids to check for understanding.
5. Accurately complete problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions, without the use of visual aids.
6. Play at least 2 fraction games that involve adding and subtracting fractions.

5. Accurately complete THREE addition problems and THREE subtraction problems without the use of visual aids. You may pick any problems that you'd like. You need 6 total! (Show your work on scatch paper you can turn in)

6. Play at least 2 fraction games that involve adding and subtracting fractions. (Write down your fastest time on the timed games and see if you can be the fastest in the class to complete it!)
