Welcome! You have arrived to your first WebQuest! During this WebQuest we will be answering the question "where do domestic cats come from?". We will be using the 5 themes of geography to help us with this quest. First, lets review the 5 themes of geography.
The 5 Themes of Geography are:
1)Location (Where something is)
2)Place (What something's location is like)
3)Region (What makes a place unique)
4)Human/Environment Interaction (How people affect the land, and how the land affects people)
5)Movement (How people, animals, things, or ideas move around)

Task
You are ready for your quest! First, you will be watching two vidoes. Have paper and pencil ready so that you can answer the questions as you discover them. Skim the following questions before watching the videos so that you can familiarize yourself with them.

4)Name three cultures from where cats were originally found. (Region)
5)When cats were no longer wanted because of superstitious reasons, what plague was associated with this? Why?
6)In what year were cats once again viewed as a popular animal/pet, and what famous woman was responsible for this? (Movement)
7)Do you personally like cats?
