2016 Election Process

Introduction
  • In this project, you will be learning about the 2016 presidential candidates and the election process.
  • You will also be learning how to make a Prezi presentation, which is similar to PowerPoint, but is a lot cooler to use and to watch.
  • You will be doing activities, creating an ad, and researching & sharing information on various presidential candidates.
  • We will share our Prezi presentations on the final day of the project (Friday, March 11, 2016).
Task

Research information for your Prezi slides:

  • Use these links to research and find out information to complete your project.
  • Don't just click on the link and then say you can't find the information.
  • You have to TAKE YOUR TIME and actually READ to understand.
  • Click on links within the pages...this is your opportunity to learn something most students your age don't know yet.

You can always Google the candidate's name and policies (example: Ted Cruz policies) and all their views on various topics will come up in the search).

Process
  • Start your Prezi @ https://prezi.com/signup/public/ You will use the summitsuperstars+yourname@gmail.com and the password Student2016 to sign up for a free account.
  • The titles of each slide are in blue next to the slide number. Just copy and paste the title into your slide and change the size and font to what you like.
  • Use the research links on the task page to learn about the candidates.
  • MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY READ SO THAT YOU CAN LEARN. You are at the age where it's important to know what's going on in your country.
  • Read about the following candidates: Clinton, Sanders, Cruz, Rubio, Trump. Based on your readings, choose a Republican presidential candidate and a Democratic presidential candidate to profile for this presentation.
  • REMEMBER...NOTHING IS FREE. Just because a candidate says they'll make something free, that doesn't make it true. Someone somewhere will be paying. Choose based on their views and ideals about where our country needs to be.
