Introduction
You are going research and collect information about the Original 13 Colonies and their regions for the Colonial Postcard project. Through independent research, you will become familiar enough with the colonies and their regions that you will write a first-person account of what life was like for the colonists in the 1600-1700s. This webquest will provide you with the required information for this written account (to be assigned at a later date).
Task
Your task is to research all aspects of life in the 13 Colonies. These include the following:
- Identification of the original 13 Colonies
- Founders of each colony and the year it was established
- Description of why each colony was founded
- Geographic characteristics and features of each colony
- Role of religion
- Attitudes towards slavery
- Economic activities (How did colonists make their living?)
- Type of government and any noteworthy documents
