Webquest on Webquesting

Introduction

This week in ELT 408 and 225 you will use the web and your technology skills to learn about webquests as a teaching and learning tool and also evaluate their validity in ELT in 2020. 

Task

You will use the links to research and prepare a presentation on Webquests in groups of 3. 

You can use Powerpoint, Prezi or any other presentation tools of your choice.

The best presentations will be invited to share with the class.

You have 60 minutes to do this.

You should include the following areas but you will decide the order:

  • The standard structure, format and elements of a Webquest.
  • The History of the Webquest. 
  • An example (of your own choice and finding).Webquest - You will show the Wequest to the class and talk about it - Level, Age,Objectives,Topics. . 
  • A description of Webquests.
  • The use of Webquests in ELT from a pedagogy and methodology perspective.
  • An arguments on the relevance of Webquests in 2020.

When preparing your presentation be sure to use your own words, if not quote and cite where appropriate. 

The presentation should be between 7 and 10 minutes.

Conclusion

Once you have prepared and practiced your presentation using Zoom, be ready to present it to the whole class. Every group maybe called upon to present.

This Webquest is designed as a looping activity so teachers-to-be can learn about Webquests. This is appropriate for students of CEFR B2 level upwards.
