• Read the story and while reading try to draft on your paper the important events and put it in a chronological order.
• On your final draft, finalize each events and make sure every group members contributed.

• Make a diagram of a story mountain and read again the story. After that finalize your details by finding the beginning, Conflict, Climax, Deflation and Resolution.

A summary is written in your own words. A summary contains only the ideas of the original text. Do not insert any of your own opinions, interpretations, deductions or comments into a summary. Identify in order the significant sub-claims the author uses to defend the main point.
A story mountain is a nice visual way to teach younger children about how stories are structured. Enabling them to visualise the six different sections of a story plot in the shape of a mountain will help them to understand and remember them.
Story Mountains are useful for independent and creative writing exercises and will help support lessons in creative writing, literacy, English, and handwriting. They are a wonderful way for your English students to plan and plot out a story before they begin writing, giving them a framework to guide them as they go.
