Task

Your task is to design a WebQuest that can be used in your classroom to teach a topic of your choice. The WebQuest should be engaging, informative, and should address the essential elements of a WebQuest.

Process

You will learn about the importance of each of these elements and how to effectively use them in your WebQuest.

  2. Choose a Topic: In this section, you will choose a topic that you would like to teach using your WebQuest. You will brainstorm ideas for your WebQuest and consider how you can incorporate the essential elements of a WebQuest to effectively teach your topic.

  3. Develop your WebQuest: In this section, you will use what you have learned to design your own WebQuest. You will create an introduction that explains the purpose and benefits of the WebQuest, develop an engaging task that addresses your chosen topic, identify appropriate resources, design a rubric for evaluation, and create a conclusion that reinforces the learning objectives.

  3. Quality and relevance of resources (20 points): Are the resources used in the WebQuest current and relevant? Are they appropriate for the target audience and the topic being taught? Are the resources cited properly and easy to access?

  4. Rubric for evaluation (20 points): Does the rubric provide clear criteria for evaluation? Does it align with the learning objectives and the task? Is it fair and impartial?

  5. Conclusion and reinforcement of learning objectives (10 points): Does the conclusion provide a clear summary of the learning objectives and what was accomplished? Does it encourage reflection and promote a deeper understanding of the topic?

  6. Collaboration and feedback (20 points): Did the learner effectively collaborate with peers during the design process? Did they provide constructive feedback to their peers? Did they use feedback from peers to make revisions to their WebQuest?

Grading Scale:

90-100 points: Excellent WebQuest, demonstrates a strong understanding of the essential elements of a WebQuest and effectively teaches the chosen topic.

80-89 points: Good WebQuest, demonstrates a good understanding of the essential elements of a WebQuest and effectively teaches the chosen topic, but may have minor areas of improvement.

70-79 points: Fair WebQuest, demonstrates some understanding of the essential elements of a WebQuest, but may be lacking in clarity or creativity in the task, quality of resources, or reinforcement of learning objectives.

Below 70 points: Poor WebQuest, demonstrates a lack of understanding of the essential elements of a WebQuest and does not effectively teach the chosen topic.
