Did you know lightning can hit the same spot many times? Like how a tall building might get zapped by lightning more than once during a big storm! Lightning likes to go to the tallest thing around, so tall buildings are like magnets for it!
Hey there, adventurers! Get ready for an awesome trip into the world of weather! We're going on a WebQuest to discover all about weather patterns and how they affect us. Are you excited to learn how to be weather experts and explore cool stuff about the sky? Let's dive in and start our amazing journey!
In Grade 4, you learnt about weather. Do you remember what weather is?
People often talk about weather patterns. A pattern is something that recurs or repeats in a regular way.
What does the weather look like outside during different conditions?
Task
At the end of this exploration, you should be able to:
- Correctly recall at least three (3) elements of weather after watching a YouTube video.
- Describe how weather patterns help meteorologists to forecast weather.
- Analyze how the elements of weather vary over the day or week in a specific area after listening to weather forecast.
- Create a weather pattern diorama that accurately represents a chosen weather condition, including key elements such as the sun, clouds, precipitation, etc.

- Be creative and use various materials to bring your weather scenes to life.
Evaluation
- Once the dioramas are complete, you will present your creations to the class.
- During the presentation, you will be asked to explain the weather pattern you were assigned and describe the key elements depicted in your diorama.
- You should also discuss how different weather patterns affect people, animals, and the environment.
This is the rubric I will use to grade your diorama and your presentation .
