Introduction

We are going to learn about waves. You will learn about the different types of waves and you will even get to create your own. You are going to complete this webquest so that you can become an expert on waves.

You and your partner are going to read about waves. While you read you are going to complete this graphic organizer. Take turns reading and be sure to pay attention. After reading and comepleteing your graphic organizer you will get to use a wave simulator, then you will put your knowledge to the test to see who can answer more questions correctly about waves.

Standard Number and Description: 4-PS4-1 Waves and their application in technology

Disciplinary Core Ideas: Waves are regular patterns of motion that can be made in water by disturbing the surface. When they are made in water, the water goes up and down, but does not change in direction except when water meets a beach. Waves that are the same type can have different amplitudes and wavelengths.
