The Water Cycle Adventure

Introduction

Welcome to The Water Cycle Adventure! Have you ever wondered where the water you drink comes from, or how it gets back to the ocean after you use it? In this webquest, we'll explore the amazing journey of water as it travels through the water cycle. We'll learn about the different stages of the cycle, how water is important for all living things, and how we can protect this precious resource.

Task

Your mission is to become a water cycle detective! You'll use your research skills to gather clues about the different stages of the water cycle. You'll also create your own water cycle model and share your findings with your classmates.

Process

Investigate:

  • Watch an animated video or read a story about the water cycle.
  • Visit a website or book to learn more about the different stages of the cycle: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.
  • Take notes on what you learn and be sure to answer the following questions:

-What happens to water during evaporation?

-What conditions are needed for condensation to occur?

-What are the different forms of precipitation?

-How does water collect on land and in the ocean?

Create:

  • Design and build a model of the water cycle. You can use recycled materials, art supplies, or anything else you can think of.
  • Be sure to include all the stages of the cycle and show how water moves from one stage to the next.
  • Get creative! You can make your model a 3D diorama, a comic strip, or even a song or poem.

Share:

  • Present your water cycle model to your classmates. Explain how it works and what you learned about the water cycle.
  • Discuss the importance of water for all living things and how we can protect this valuable resource.
Evaluation

Your webquest will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Accuracy of information: Did you correctly identify the different stages of the water cycle and explain how they work?
  • Creativity and originality: Did you come up with a unique and interesting way to present your findings?
  • Clarity and organization: Was your presentation easy to understand and follow?
  • Participation: Did you actively participate in discussions and activities?
Conclusion

Congratulations on completing your water cycle adventure! You've learned about an important natural process that is essential for life on Earth. Remember, water is a precious resource that we all need to protect. By understanding the water cycle, we can make informed choices about how we use water in our everyday lives.
