Introduction

Did you know that you could be drinking the same water as dinosaurs drank millions of years ago?

This is a grade 5 WebQuest on "The Amazing Journey of Water Droplets."

The adventure will take four minutes to complete.

Task

Hello, young explorer! Today you will learn about the water cycle's stages. 

You will see that water is a traveler that has been moving all over the planet for billions of years.

You will watch a 2-minute animated video of the water cycle. 

The video will help you to identify and describe stages of the water cycle. 

It will show you how water evaporates from the land and oceans, forms clouds, and falls back as rain. 

Process

Here are the steps for this activity:

2. List the Water Cycle Stages

  • List all the water cycle stages you can remember using the digital notepad. 

3. Using the Digital Notepad

  • Click the digital notepad icon on your desktop. 
  • List all the stages in the notepad and save it with your name and the date to find it easily later.
Evaluation

Great news! You just completed the water cycle Web Quest! Now, these are steps to turn in your work and receive grades!

1. You will take a short oral quiz to share what you learned about the water cycle. 

2. You will receive 3 points for accuracy in identifying and describing each stage of the water cycle. 

3. You will receive 2 points for participating during the class discussion and quiz. 

4. You may earn up to 5 points from this assignment. Here is the breakdown.

The WebQuest will enable learners to understand the water cycle’s stages.

Learners will watch a short, animated video of the water cycle. Then will then enlist all observable stages.

Process

  1. Watch the 2-minute short, animated water cycle video.
  2. List observed water cycle stages.
  3. The new tool is a digital notepad for recording stages of the water cycle.

Evaluation

  1. The assessment method will entail a short, oral quiz on the content learned.
  2. The evaluation will be based on understanding and correctly identifying stages of the water cycle.
  3. The grades activities entail accuracy in answering the oral quiz and classroom participation.
  4. The grade scale involves giving 3 points for accuracy and 2 points for participation.

Reflection 

  1. Creating the WebQuest planning sheet was an exhilarating activity. It enabled me to focus content delivery and be precise with information provision. The process enabled me to create a rubric for two different measures and link all items to TEKS.
