Introduction
There are festivals held all over the world every year, to celebrate many different things. In this activity, you will research a festival in a country which used English as a first or second language that you would like to attend, and create an itinerary for your trip.
This activity will get you to practice researching, writing in future tense, and expressing wants and desires.
You will use the itinerary you create as part of your next class presentation.
Task
At the end of this activity, you should have a complete itinerary for a trip to your chosen festival. Make sure you use English language websites for your research! Your itinerary should be presented in the style of a report, with the following headings:
My Festival
Explain what the festival is, and why you would like to attend it.
Location
Where is the festival held? What time of year will it be?
Budget
How much will the whole trip cost you? Provide a table with the price of the flights, accommodation, festival tickets, your daily food budget, and anything else you can think of. Don't forget to convert the currency!
Daily Itinerary
Give a day-by-day itinerary of your trip. Day 1 will be your flight to the destination country. Make sure you include all your travel, such as train and bus trips.
Find the festival guide online, either for the next festival or the last one. Use this to plan what you will do on each day of the festival.
Reflection
Are you excited by your trip? Discuss what you think your favourite part will be, and if you think there will be any problems. Propose solutions to the problems.
