Welcome to the world of biomes!
You will choose a biome and create an informative presentation to share with your classmates.
Step 1:
You will be responsible for the following areas of your biome:
1. Physical landscape
2. Animal life
3. Plant life
Physical Landscape
- Background information
- Geographic distribution
- Examples with pictures/illustrations
Animal Life
- Background information
- Adaptations to live there
- Examples with pictures/illustrations
Plant Life
- Background information
- Adaptations to live there
- Examples with pictures/illustrations
Step 2:
Use the available resources to gather information needed for your presentation. The resources available to us are:
- The internet
- The encyclopedia
- The library
- The textbook
Step 3:
For your presentation, choose one of the following options listed below:
1. Write and illustrate a travel brochure to your biome.
2. Make an informative poster using art supplies, pictures, and written information describing your biome.
3. Create a diorama of your biome using a box, art supplies, and pictures. A summary must be included; it must be at least two paragraphs long.
4. Create a powerpoint presentation.
5. Write an essay detailing the information about your biome.
Step 4:
Each presentation should be 7-10 minutes in length and must be presented to your classmates.
The following components must be included in your presentation:
- Name, date, and class period
- Introduction (overview of your biome)
- Specifics as listed above
Additional information to use:
(These questions should be answered prior to working on presentations.)
- Answer these guiding questions for the biome you are researching:
- Where is this biome located?
- What kind of climate is necessary for the biome?
- What is an ecosystem?
- List at least two biotic elements found in your biome.
- List at least two abiotic elements found in your biome.
- What kind of food web might be found in your biome?
