Using Information Communication Technology for 21st century education

Introduction

    In the fast-paced world of technology how to deal with it is hard for us individual. Now that we are living in the 21st century it is necessary to comply with it. Educators need to be knowledgeable and critical users and creators of digital technologies. All of us should know how Teaching and Learning address to technology. The importance of it is knowing that we are ready for change and innovation. Time after time we deal with a lot of technologies how well it advanced, we have to be aware with all of that so we know how to cope up with it. In this unit we will discuss the role of Information Communication Technology in the 21st century. Also the digital technologies used in education and how can we enhance learning through this. Lastly examined the limitation of Information Communication Technology.

Task

The students will be able to. 

  • Identify the role of ICTs in education in the 21st century.
  • Analyse issues of safety and responsibility when using ICTs
  • Employ a range of ICTs to create digital artefacts that engage and enhance learning;
Process
 

Assignment :

In a illustration board draw and explain in the class, the Digital Timeline that maps the individual’s technological milestones as well as connections to wider technological developments.

 

Portfolio:

   Make a blog using the Wordpress.com develop a blog about quality Information Communication Technology resources that demonstrates a critical understanding of Information Communication Technology and digital literacy,  The blogs needs to analyse issues of safety, ethics and responsibility and their impact on learning when using Information Communication Technologies in educational settings. Effective word limit 1500 words in total, or equivalent.

 

Creative works:

    Create digital artwork (e.g. movie, animations, digital story telling resource, game, interlinked on-line environment, app, series of art works).

 

Evaluation

Assignment : 10%

Portfolio : 40%

Creative works : 50%

Conclusion
  • Learning this will enhance the students skills and knowledge on how to cope up with the digital technologies in education.
  • Also to help them be innovative that would help everyone for the better future.
