Introduction
URINARY SYSTEM
The urinary system's function is to filter blood and create urine as a waste by-product. The organs of the urinary system include the kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, bladder and urethra. The body takes nutrients from food and converts them to energy.
1. KIDNEYS. This pair of purplish-brown organs is located below the ribs toward the middle of the back. Their function is to:
- Remove waste products and drugs from the body
- Balance the body's fluids
- Release hormones to regulate blood pressure
- Control production of red blood cells.
2. URETERS. These narrow tubes carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. Muscles in the ureter walls continually tighten and relax forcing urine downward, away from the kidneys. If urine backs up, or is allowed to stand still, a kidney infection can develop. About every 10 to 15 seconds, small amounts of urine are emptied into the bladder from the ureters.
3. BLADDER. This triangle-shaped, hollow organ is located in the lower abdomen. It is held in place by ligaments that are attached to other organs and the pelvic bones. The bladder's walls relax and expand to store urine, and contract and flatten to empty urine through the urethra. The typical healthy adult bladder can store up to two cups of urine for two to five hours.
4. URETHRA. This tube allows urine to pass outside the body. The brain signals the bladder muscles to tighten, which squeezes urine out of the bladder. At the same time, the brain signals the sphincter muscles to relax to let urine exit the bladder through the urethra. When all the signals occur in the correct order, normal urination occurs.

THE URINARY SYSTEM
Excretion- is the process by which liquid wastes are removed from the body (eliminated through skin pores and through urinating)
The Urinary System- is responsible for excreting most liquid wastes from the body by means of urinating.
Urination- is the process of eliminating urine (liquid wastes)
Major Parts of the Urinary System
- Kidneys
- Ureters
- Urinary bladder
- Urethra
Kidneys- these are the two main organ that looked like two bean-shaped organs located at each side at the lower part of the spinal column.
- responsible in filtering the blood (removing excess water and salts-maintaning the balance of water and salts, urea and other waste substances from the blood and make sure that only useful substances will stay in the blood circulation).
Parts of the Kidneys: Cortex and Medulla
Cortex- outer layer of the kidney
- found here are Nephrons, which are filters that purify the blood and remove the wastes.
Medulla- inner layer of the kidney
- it is made up of tubules by which the urine passes down to the ureters.
Ureters- tubes. where the urine flows from the kidney going to the urinary bladder.
- Peristalsis is the movement of the smooth muscles found in the ureters where the urine flows going to the urinary bladder.
Urinary bladder- it is a holloe muscular organ that acts as temporary storage of the urine.
- the muscular contraction of the urinary bladder forces the urine out from the body.
Urethra- found at the bottom of the urinary bladder where the urine flows out from the body.
- the urethra varies in male (9cm long) and female (4cm long)
- found here is the Sphincter Muscle which serves as a valuelike structure that responsible in regulating the dischrage of urine.
The students will read and understand about the Urinary System and parts of the urinary system. Students will able to read carefully the questions to easily identify the correct answer. Also students will review their answer sheet in case, there are numbers have no answer.

Conclusion
Therefore, the students can learned about Urinary System. They can easily describe the Urinary System with the corresponding parts as seen in the video. Students will develop their critical thinking skills and their communication. They will also manage information and to adapt in this new online platforms because we are now in digital age. They acquire new skills and knowledge for various uses. Lastly, they can develop the curiosity that is the most beneficial lifelong learning skills.
I will encourage them to focus on the quiz and to be more attentive during the quiz is given. Also, students must be specific and concise in responding the questions.
