Introduction
This WebQuest will introduce 9th and 10th grade students to careers that are of interest. This activity will also introduce the student to become aware of oppurtunities after high school.
Task
You will need to complete this task by exploring the provided links, completing a career interest survey and completing a career of interest handout. You will need to take your time to complete this activty to ensure it is as accurate to your interest.

Process

1. You will need to go to PACareerZone and click on the Assess Yourself Tab. The Self-Assessment tools will help you get an idea about yourself and familiarity with your interests. You will need to choose one assessment to complete out of the four listed. Remember to read the directions carefully and take your time.
2. Upon completion of the assessment you choose, look at your results and look for (2) possible careers that you feel are of interest. Use the Choosing a Career handout to begin answering questions based of your two career choices.
3. Next you will need to go to BureauofStatistics and find the Career Exploration page. You will need to find the 2 Careers previously chosen from activity 1 and find them. Once you have found the career you will need to print out the job outlook, and continue to answer the questions from your handout. Feel free to print out other information that would also help you get a clear idea of the career.
4. Lastly print out the most current Employment Projection from the following link BureauofStatistics. When finished have your instructor sign of in your checklist that this WebQuest was completed and all the questions have been answered.

TRiO Upward Bound is a great place to ask for questions and educational tools to use in high school and through-out your adventures into post-secondary education! Remember that this Career Assessment is just a tool to give you an idea of how to begin to explore for a career, but it does not mean you can't do other wonderful things as well!
