Introduction

More Black Mothers Are Becoming Single Parents by Choice

A parent who raises their children alone, without the support of a partner, is referred to as single parenting. There are several reasons why a single parent might raise their child on their own without assistance from a partner. The effects of single parenthood on a child can vary depending on various factors, including the child's age, the quality of the parent-child relationship, and the overall level of support available both within and outside of the family unit. While growing up in a single-parent household can present certain challenges for a child, it is crucial to note that many children raised by a single parent go on to lead fulfilling and successful lives. One of the primary effects of single parenthood on a child is the potential disruption to their emotional well-being. Research has consistently shown that children from single-parent households are more likely to experience feelings of loneliness, isolation, and even. This is often a result of the absence of the other parent, which can leave a child feeling a sense of loss or abandonment. Additionally, single parents may be juggling multiple responsibilities, leaving less time and energy available for emotional support and engagement with their child. The unmet is not having accessible childcare in the African American community for single mothers can negatively affects a child’s development. The hypothesis is due to the lack resources in the African American community, therefore children who are raised with one parent are more like to face emotional and behavioral challenges.

Task

Having affordable child care is the best way to address the need. Selecting credible, reasonably priced child care is one of the most significant decisions you will ever make as a parent or guardian. The degree to which a child is prepared for school has a direct bearing on how well they do in school and in life as a whole. Additionally, it provides parents with the comfort and support they need to work and support their families. However, it's not always inexpensive.

Evaluation

Childcare Act

Proposed childcare legislation that is both the most extensive and audacious is the Child Care for Working Families Act (CCWFA). The CCWFA would limit families' childcare expenses to 7 percent of their income on a sliding scale, improving access to trustworthy, reasonably priced childcare for the majority of low- and middle-income families. Enacting the CCWFA would allow an estimated 1.6 million parents to join the workforce by lowering the cost of childcare. It is also anticipated that the measure will generate an extra 700,000 employment in the primarily female field of early childhood education and ensure that early educators receive a livable pay. . Although this funding increase is a critical first step toward helping the country's chronically underfunded childcare system, more funding must be provided to bring about significant and long-lasting change.

Conclusion

Finally, to meet the unmet demand for affordable childcare for single parents in the African American community, affordable childcare program from the government will be established. The ABC Affordable Childcare program will help lower compared to cohabiting mothers, persistent depression, anxiety, substance abuse, stressful life events, low self-esteem, social isolation, and insufficient emotional support for single parents. This will help single parents find stable childcare for parents that is not only accessible but affordable. The best approach to make society stronger is to act early to avoid parents from losing everything because of a shortage of affordable childcare facilities. As a prospective social worker and African-American raised by a single mother, I believe that this is an issue that has to be resolved.
