Imagine waking up one day to find your city flooded, crops failing, and extreme heat making it hard to go outside. This is not a science-fiction story—it’s the reality of climate change. In this WebQuest, you will become young environmental researchers who investigate the causes, impacts, and possible solutions to climate change. Your mission: create a digital awareness campaign to inform your community about this global issue.

Task

 

You and your group will research climate change and create a multimedia presentation (Google Slides, Canva, or video) that:

  1. Explains what climate change is.

  2. Identifies its causes.

  3. Describes its effects on people, animals, and the environment.

  4. Suggests possible solutions individuals, communities, and governments can adopt.

  5. Ends with a call to action.

Your final product will be presented to the class and shared online (class blog or school website)

Process

 

Follow these steps with your group:

  1. Form groups of 4–5 students.

  2. Assign roles within your group:

    • Researcher: Finds reliable information.

    • Writer: Summarizes findings.

    • Designer: Creates visuals/slides.

    • Presenter: Prepares to explain findings.

    • Editor: Checks grammar and clarity.

  3. Research using the provided resources (and other teacher-approved sites).

  4. Organize your findings under the five task points.

  5. Design your multimedia presentation. Be creative—use images, graphs, videos, or infographics.

  6. Rehearse your presentation and make sure each member contributes.

  7. Present your final project to the class
