Introduction
Hello!
You are a wildlife expert. You have been asked by the UN to travel around the world, visiting each continent and recording the wildlife that are found there. The information that you collect will be used to help the UN better understand which species of animals can be found where.

Task
In small groups, research the different animals that are found in each of the continents:
- Asia
- Europe
- Africa
- North America
- South America
- Australia
- Antarctica
When you have completed your research, you should make a PowerPoint presentation to show your research to the UN.
Here are some websites you can use to help you with your research:

You will be given two hours a week of class time. The rest can be done as homework or during library or lunch times.
Process
What to do:
Step 1 - create small groups of three or four people
Step 2 - discuss and decide how you are going to carry out your research project. Are you all going to work together? Or are you going to divide up the continents?
Step 3 - using the internet to help you, research the different animals that are native to the different continents. Make notes as you do this.
Step 4 - create a PowerPoint presentation that shows what you have found out.
Step 5 - present your findings to the UN members (also known as the English department)

Conclusion
Once the month long project has been completed, the students will have learned about the different species of animals that live on each of our continents. Hopefully, they will appreciate the variety of animals that we have on our planet. They will have learned how to work together in a group and how to use the internet to help them with their research.
